With life
being continually chaotic and unpredictable and the crew of the WSS
Boobyprise remaining in suspended animation due to a temporal chasm, Hal 90
has kindly hosted another show for us. The good news (of sorts) is that my
94 year old adoptive mum is now going into full time residential care and,
finally, our lives will become our own again, thus there are plans! The
August 2nd show will be "EFSPACMSTOCK", a special to launch the EFSPACM
Festival, complete with sounds from some of the amazing creative talents
within the group. Then for September 6th, we actually get back to what
passes for normal round here with the much heralded "The Ego Has Landed". Oh
yes, we'll be waking Captain Riz Sigma and crew and letting Dr. Patel loose
in their heads, complete with a playlist featuring Psychic Telescope, Sensitiv, Versioning, Terbeschikkingstelling, Communication Union, Odd
Person, Charles Rice Goff III, Shaun Robert & Gerardo Colin, Ursula's
Cartridges and one from your Magic Bullet, in spite of you not having done
anything to us. Oh, not to mention a special guest appearance from Magic
Moments At Twilight Time legend, Miss Shona Moments herself! When you're
sitting comfortably...

Howl in the Typewriter - Temporal Chasm (3:43)
There's some new stuff out soon from Blackpool
based Stan Batcow (yup, we're virtually neighbours, my living nearby has
cost him £25,000 off the value of his house) on his Pumf Records label,
always worth looking forward to. Meanwhile, more from the excellent CD,
"Shut Your Mouth And Open Your Mind" (PUMF 889). That sounds like a big
number, doesn't it? Nah, Stan only issues numbers in multiples of seven,
he's funny like that. He used to do the same with prices too, like his
cassettes had to be £1.37 or summat. That's the only reason HitT never had a
tape on Music & Elsewhere ya know, simply because we had more pragmatic and
conventional pricing, none of which included the number seven. One of the
good guys, albeit a barm cake...

Anla Courtis ja Lehtisalo - Mustikkandano 01.10.1972 (6:04)
This is a new name to us, coming via Daphnia
Press, not actually sure if that's a thing or a person, but many thanks
either way, really nice album. In spite of being a Finnish project, Anla
hails from Argentina, where he's made something of a name for himself with
experimental project, Reynols. Jussi Lehtisalo is the Suomi connection,
being the avant gardist behind such projects as Circle and Pharaoh Overlord.
And Ektro Records appears to be his label too. So anyway, fascinating
cross-continental ambient experimental pieces. Don't quite know why the
album is called "1972", but that was the year I first heard Hawkwind, so it
kind of means something to me too!

 Three
from "Sounds From Space" (Institute For Alien Research)
Oh, I know, I keep going back to Shaun
Robert's musique concrète compilations so much, but then that's coz there's
so many creative and wondrous sounds on them. I've already played some from
this personal favourite, and there are still a couple more to come. And when
you listen, you won't be surprised at their inclusion. Or we'll find out
where you live and empty your bin on your front doorstep. Maybe rummage
through it a bit, check for unfinished pizza, stuff like that. Yeah, don't
mess with us. The following
three artists have all been on the show before coz we like 'em, 'em being Bill Northcott from
Manitoba, Canada; Jesús Alfaro from Marbella, Spain; and the space zombie
himself, hailing from somewhere in Argentina.

PREVIEW FROM PROJECT M - "MAN +
MACHINE : UNIFICATION / ASSIMILATION"
This one has taken forever to get going as
life has thrown one piece of mayhem after another in my direction. However
(and I'm desperately trying to avoid tempting fate here), things do seem to
be going fairly reasonably again now, so I've been able to get on with my
part of this much procrastinated collaborative project with Olympus Cosmos
from Default Standard Records. So, I thought it was about time I shared with
you the work he sent me to base it around... just over three years ago, a
piece called "Michael & Marilyn". This is followed by part of my
contribution (though this is not the mix we'll be using on the finished
album, rather a side project done for The Church Of Noisy Goat's "Synthetic
Dystopia"), having fun experimenting with samples of vintage computer
programs (remember when you had to load them from cassette players?) and
offset tremolo. Should clear your ears out nicely, enjoy...
