"Open The Podcast Door, Hal" is
presented by Hal Ford, who plays HAL-90 in the show; "Hello and welcome
to the first edition of the podcast for fans of Mick Magic’s Radioshow To
The Stars! Tonight, you’ll be meeting some of the main cast in their
civvies. My name actually is Hal, Hal Ford to be precise."

Levinus Johannes Katergoud - Birthday Jingle
From a nice little reel he sent me for
my birthday, bless him! One of the great names from the days of the cassette
underground, be that Amanda Man, Hahamandad, Selfs Without Shells (still
performing!) or whatever. And, of course, we
had some of his sound creations on Music & Elsewhere under the banner of the
LJ Karma Roadshow. More recently creating sounds as one half of Kunzysteem,
but no websites, Bandcamps or Soundclouds, so you'll have to investigate
this one the old-fashioned way...

Mick Magic, who plays Captain Riz
Sigma: "Oh that’s cute, it’s one of those cards that plays little tinky-bonk
tunes when you open it. Let me read this for you; 'Happy 60th birthday Willy
The Oak Tree, best wishes, Amanda Man.' Oh wow, that was the first song I
ever wrote, 8 years old I was."
Sylvia Masheen, who plays Slay 'Number One' Skibidy: "And if you sing
it now, we’re all quitting the show."
Mick Magic: "No chance of that, Sylvia, I have..."
Sylvia Masheen: "What is it?
Asha Brimful, who plays Dr. Patel: "What is he staring at?"
Hal Ford: "Well, Asha, my guess would be the strange cylinder
hovering outside the window."

Magic Moments At Twilight Time - The Cylinder
The very first 'track' from The W20 Sessions
on Saturday 25th October 1986, which also makes it the first ever track
released under the name of Magic Moments At Twilight Time. Originally, it
was part of my first demo, "Willy The Oak Tree's 20th Birthday Party",
assembled a couple of weeks later on 8th November, which really didn't work
and was thus shelved for another month, when a more focused introduction was
put together under the name "W20... Advance Guard!" "The Cylinder" was
amongst the stuff digitally remastered by Klappstuhl Records in 2015,
appearing as a bonus track on the "Flashbax Ω Ultimate" collection (SP 008)...

Hal Ford: Mick, can you hear us?
Timothy Flowerpot, who plays Ken
Expendable: Looks like he’s in some kind of trance.
Sylvia Masheen:
To be fair, he always looks a bit vacant.
Hal Ford: Nick, I think we may need
to call an ambulance.
Nick Rowley, who plays Skit Zoyd:
Okay, yeah, sure.
Hal Ford: Tell them he is
unresponsive.
Sylvia Masheen: No change there.
Weslee Crumble, who plays Dr. Weslee
Crumble: If I was a doctor in real life, I would make him all better.
Hal Ford: That’s very sweet of you,
Weslee. Nick, what did they say, how long?
Nick Rowley: I think I got a wrong
number, Davison & Campau, said the dentist will see you now.

William Davison & Don Campau - The Dentist Will See You Now
"It never hurts to suck up to the boss."
(Ferengi Rules Of Acquisition #33)
A bit of work from the man behind the KOWS
Radio Summit next, Don Campau, here in league with William Davison, and a
second track on the show from the "Nitrous" album, vis-à-vis a funky little
rhythm with a touch of the avant garde about it. Don is, of course, one of
the absolute founding fathers of the cassette underground; making music
since the late 60's, producing a series of No Pigeonholes radioshows,
running the Lonely Whistle Music label, plus KFR distribution in the States
for many years, not to mention The Living Archive Of Underground Music. How
he ever found time to have a family is beyond me...
